Different sewage systems need different work
A sealed holding tank stores sewage for collection. A septic tank or treatment plant has its own operating requirements, while a pump station contains equipment that may need cleaning before it can be inspected or serviced. Emptying, cleaning and equipment maintenance are therefore treated as different tasks.
The contents matter as much as the tank. Domestic sewage, process wastewater, leachate and agricultural liquids are not interchangeable waste streams. Their source and composition affect recovery, transport and the receiving facility that can accept them.
Cleaning after a sewage release
Where sewage has escaped into a building or outdoor area, removing the standing liquid is only the first stage. Solids, contaminated surfaces, porous materials, drying and utility checks may all need separate attention depending on the area affected.
We describe the work by what has actually been recovered or cleaned. If the visit exposes a pump fault, damaged fitting, inaccessible area or other problem, that finding is reported separately so it can be investigated or repaired.
